Big Horn District #4 Parent Involvement Plan
It is the belief of Big Horn School District # 4 that parent involvement in education is the key to successful students. The schools within the District encourage the participation of parents and families as follows:
Laura Irwin Elementary School- Donuts for Dads
- Muffins for Moms
- Parent on NCA Steering committee
- Parent/Teacher Association
- Fall Carnival
- Read To Your Sweetheart (This will be new this year)
- Student Spotlight Parent Lunch
- Once a month birthday celebration (we have parents whose children have a birthday that month volunteer to help)
- Open House
- Title I Open House
- Parent/Teacher Conferences
- Parent Volunteers for special days (100th day of school, activity days, etc…)
- Back to school night
- Athletic performances
- Parent Teacher Conferences
- Individual parent conferences
- IEP/BIT meetings with parents
- Parents are allowed to eat with their children at lunch
- Choir/Music recitals
- PAC (Parent Advisory Committee)/Booster Club
- Parent/Community Volunteers for Quad D Lessons
- Monthly PAC/Booster club meetings- these are normally the second Monday of the month unless there is a conflict.
- Open house at the beginning of the school year
- Two parent/teacher conferences during the year
- College cuisine put on for the seniors and their parents by Mrs. Roady
- Senior FASA meeting with NWC to go over the FASA report required for college admission, put on by Ms. Trevino during lunch
- Perkins Advisory committee- meeting held twice a year to address Perkins concerns
- NCA committees, once we get the data collected and surveys collected we will invite parent and students to help us come up with our new plan and formulate our new goals.
